Jenn and Yvonne met in 2012 working as Restorative Dental Hygienists in general practice . After 7 years of working together, Jenn left to pursue her dream of working in Orthodontics, at the same time Yvonne was titled Team Lead and Hygiene Coordinator. They stayed very close friends and always talked about opening their own business together.
In June 2022, Jenn and Yvonne created Urban Smiles Ottawa, a Professional Teeth Whitening business; an opportunity to provide people with a safe, affordable, and effective teeth whitening experience. This service would be available to those in the comfort of their own home, or in their spa like studio located in the heart of Ottawa.
With over forty years combined experience working as Dental Hygienists, Jenn and Yvonne saw a need for providing people with exceptional and educational hygiene care, so they decided to expand their business into an Independent Dental Hygiene Studio.
In March 2023 they opened their Independent Dental Hygiene studio in Centertown where they are currently able to offer all the same dental hygiene services one would receive at their dental office, but in a quiet, hassle free, spa like setting.
Their interest in teeth has turned into a love for helping people and they look forward to guiding you on your journey to a brighter, cleaner and more confident you
Jenn Babiuk
Jennifer is a 3x Algonquin College graduate and as been in the dental field for over 17 years. She graduated from the Dental Hygiene program in 2010 and worked as a Restorative Dental Hygienist alongside her (now) business partner Yvonne for many years.
Her interested in teeth started at a young age when she got braces due to severe crowding and cross bite.
10 years of orthodontic treatment later, she had the smile of her dreams and the confidence she didn’t think she would ever have! She knew then, she had to pursue a career in Dental, and help people feel as good as she felt!
Her attention to detail, love for aesthetic dentistry and passion for helping people, landed her the clinic lead position at an Orthodontic office where she currently works fulltime. She spends her days straightening teeth and boosting self- esteem!
Urban Smiles Ottawa was then created to provide people with a professional, safe, affordable and effective teeth whitening experience!! The hope in providing this service is to help people on their journey to self love and confidence!
Yvonne Caroll
Yvonne has been in the dental field since 1996 and through out her career has gained extensive knowledge in a variety of settings. She graduated from Algonquin College with Honours in Dental Hygiene in 2002.
In 2007 she became a casual dental hygiene instructor at Algonquin College, in addition to her full time job and has continued to instruct on and off to this day. She went on to earn her graduate certificate with Honours from Algonquin College in Restorative Dental Hygiene in 2008.
She became Team Lead at her office and took on training new hygiene hires. Yvonne also gained extensive knowledge working with Cerec crown design and placement and took a lead role in that aspect of the practice. She also began working with dental assisting students at Algonquin College where she could use her restorative skills.
Yvonne loves learning and continues to take as many continuing education courses as she can find. She’s passionate about offering the highest quality service to her patients and strives to give them an educational, thorough hygiene experience.
