6 MONTHS TO A YEAR

The longevity of whitening is based on consumption of staining agents and your oral hygiene habits. Drinking coffee through a straw, and rinsing after having staining drinks will keep them whiter longer.

Every individual has different colouration of their teeth. Some people have naturally bright, white teeth while others have off – white or yellowish colour toned teeth. Teeth whitening will NOT alter the natural colour of your teeth, what it will do is remove the stains within your teeth that have accumulated over time, and restore teeth to their natural colour.

YES!! Clinical studies show that as long as the teeth and gingival tissue are healthy ,it is safe to have your teeth whitened. It is recommended to have your teeth whitened by a dental professional as they will be able to assess the health of your teeth and  tissue to ensure you are a good canidate for whitening.

YES AND NO!! It is possible to whiten your teeth even if you have existing fillings or crowns. The crowns and fillings WILL NOT whiten but we can customize your whitening to come as close to matching your restorations  as possible.

ALMOST ANYONE !!! Cosmetic teeth whitening is safe for most individuals provided that their teeth and gum tissue are healthy, which can be determined during our complimentary consultation appointment. Cosmetic teeth whitening is not recommended during  pregnancy , for children under 16 years of age, persons with allergies to peroxide products or if you are taking any medication that causes sun sensitivity.

Whitening products are designed to release a chemical (peroxide) into the  tooth enamel and produce a reaction called oxygenation and diffusion. The reaction allows the peroxide to bleach the tooth. Oxygenation causes the breakdown of stain and removal of debris through diffusion. The longer stain has been in the teeth, the deeper the whitening has  to penetrate to diffuse it.

RARELY!!! The products we use do not contain any added harsh chemicals or fillers. They are all natural, vegan, gluten free, animal cruelty free and Health Canada approved. In some rare cases you may experience some sensitivity after treatment, but it will dissipate within 24 hours. This is very rare to occur, as we monitor your comfort level throughout the procedure.

You would have your tooth gem removed at your dentist’s office.  They are removed the same way dental brackets for braces are removed.  They do not harm the teeth in any way.
